Fashion Designing

The Department of Fashion Designing at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women is dedicated to nurturing creativity, innovation, and technical skills in the dynamic field of fashion. The department offers undergraduate programs designed to equip students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to succeed in the ever-evolving fashion industry.

The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical application, covering areas such as Textile Science, Fashion Illustration, Pattern Making, Garment Construction, Fashion Merchandising, and Fashion History. Students are encouraged to explore their artistic potential while learning industry-specific skills such as trend forecasting, fabric selection, and styling.

The department’s state-of-the-art design labs and workshops provide a conducive environment for students to experiment with various techniques,  tools and materials. Through live projects, internships, and collaborations with industry professionals, students gain valuable insights into the fashion world and are prepared for real-world challenges.

In addition to academics, the department organizes fashion shows, design competitions, and exhibitions, offering students a platform to showcase their creativity.
