Political Science

The Department of Political Science at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women is committed to providing students with a comprehensive understanding of political systems, governance, and global political dynamics. The department offers undergraduate programs designed to help students analyze and critically engage with political theory, ideologies, public policy, and international relations.

The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects including Political Theory, Comparative Politics, Indian Government and Politics, International Relations, Public Administration, and Political Economy. Students develop a strong foundation in understanding political structures, the role of government, and the impact of political decisions on society.

The department is staffed by experienced and dedicated faculty members who encourage critical thinking, debate, and research, helping students

develop a deeper understanding of political issues. Through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and field visits, students gain exposure to contemporary political issues and engage with experts in the field.

In addition to academic rigor, the department encourages extracurricular activities such as debates, mock parliaments, and political discussions, promoting student involvement in democratic processes. Graduates from the Department of Political Science are well-equipped for careers in government services, international organizations, policy analysis, journalism, and law, or for pursuing advanced studies in political science and related fields.
