The history of the establishment of the premier Sikh organization, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib, is filled with humility and sacrifices. With its formation, Sikh power became organized, representing the interests of the Panth. From the proper management of Gurdwaras, the propagation and expansion of the Sikh faith, addressing Panthic issues, providing healthcare services, promoting welfare and education, to serving society in every sphere, its role has remained prominent.
Education is considered the third eye of a human being. With the aim of spreading education, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib, has established educational institutions to selflessly provide high-quality, standard, and time-relevant education. Along with academic excellence, these institutions strive to shape the personality of students in accordance with moral values, the rich Sikh heritage, Sikh principles, and the Sikh way of life.
In the present times, when religious, social, cultural, and educational challenges are widespread, educational institutions have a vital role and responsibility—to guide the younger generation in the right direction, to protect them from evils such as apostasy and drugs, to provide them with moral and ethical education, and to safeguard them from the dazzle of Western influence and the increasing trend of migration to foreign lands. The institutions run under the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee are equipped with modern technology and artificial intelligence resources, ensuring that along with technical facilities, students also receive education in human values, high ideals, moral principles, and Sikh tenets. Their mission is to instill in students discipline, restraint, contentment, and sensitivity, thus nurturing noble character.
In line with the sacred command of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, “Vidhia Veechari Ta Parupkari” (True education leads to service of others), students are taught that education must result in the welfare of society. True learning enables a person to be thoughtful, compassionate, and beneficial to others. Following this ideal, Sikh education must reflect Sikh consciousness, intellect, wisdom, understanding, and discernment, so that enlightened minds embody the essence of Sikhi.
I warmly welcome all the students taking admission to this institution and extend my heartfelt best wishes for their bright future.
With Best Wishes Adv.S. Harjinder Singh Dhami President, S.G.P.C Sri Amritsar Sahib
